In Matthew Chapter 6, Jesus tells us something of the utmost importance.  This statement can be used by every Christian to check and see if they are living out their Christian lives in line with biblical truths.  The statement is made in Matthew 6:33 and I believe it is a major stumbling block for many of us that call ourselves Christians.  Jesus states, “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” (NIV).  We know from Matthew Chapters 5 through 7 that there are some of the most important and significant teachings in all the bible.  They are spoken by Jesus to throngs of people (The Sermon on the Mount).  These are the teachings of our creator and savior and should be studied, absorbed  and applied by all Christians. So You Think You Have Won?

Jeremiah 30:23-24

“See, the storm of the Lord will burst out in wrath, a driving wind swirling down on the heads of the wicked.  The fierce anger of the Lord will not turn back until he fully accomplishes the purposes of his heart.  In the days to come you will understand this.”

God’s wrath is depicted as a storm, a driving wind coming down from above.  Similar to that of a tornado that forms in the clouds and then appears out of nowhere.  Once the tornado gains enough energy and force, it swirls down in fury.  That is what it will be like for the wicked, only this storm will not stop.  It will continue until the Lord accomplishes the purposes of His heart.  Until His plan is complete.  The wicked may think they are in control; their arrogance gets the best of them.  The wicked may feel invincible and walk in confidence, thinking nothing can stand in their way.  When the storm of the Lord bursts out in wrath, the wicked will be no more.  They are destined for destruction.  On that day, the wicked will quickly find out who is really in control and who is ruler of the universe.
