In the past year since moving to SE Houston we’ve had at least 3 power-down situations, the last one after a nasty storm just about a month ago lasted the longest, from supper time until almost 3a.m., in the August heat here. Each time we’ve learned more about what is most important to us and we fine tune things a little more. Nothing complicated, just basic stuff. Like the awesome battery-op fans we put to good use this last go-round – huge for resting well at night in our heat with no a-c. $10 each at Wally World. Plan to add solar battery charger next for those. YOUNG couple upstairs from us left, they couldn’t take it even for a few hours! (we’re in an apartment). First outage some neighbor gal was outside hollering she couldn’t watch the game (it was a Sunday). Poor thing, wonder if she’d care about the darn game if she was hungry…

    • Cheryl,

Sorry about the delay in answering you back. It certainly sounds like you and your family are ready for unforeseen circumstances that may come your way. As for some of your neighbors, seems like they will have to learn the hard way. They could also become one of your enemies in a grid down so be careful. Keep prepping and Stay Ready!

      God Bless.

Is ok, glad you are still out there. Hoping all is well with you and yours. Husband & I keep praying for sanity to somehow prevail in our government and for those few left who carry one and fight the good fight there, despite the extreme opposition. So few now.

    • We are doing good. I hope you and your family are doing well. I think are government has given themselves over and many are so corrupt it is beyond comprehension. I do not trust anything they say or do. One False Flag after the other.
